CASI (Coach Assignment Status Inventory): All

Service day date: The date next to the menus at the top of this page is the service day date: from 00:00 to 01:45, the service day date is yesterday; from 02:00 to 23:59, the service day date is today. The fifteen minutes missing between 01:45 and 02:00 provide time for site maintenance and upgrades.

Route Focus: Click (desktop computer) or tap (smartphone) the three horizontal lines (located close to the top of the page) to display a route focus menu. Click one of the routes to display information about that route. On headway route pages, use the (route reversal arrow) to reverse the route direction from the north or east defaults.

Sort: Tap or click any blue, underlined column heading to sort table rows. For example, on the "Block" reference page, tap or click the Block column heading to sort the table according to the block number, ascending. This is the default sort on the "Block" reference page). Tap or click the Cch heading to sort the table rows according to the current coach number, descending. Tap or click the Rt column heading to sort according to the route number, ascending, with a secondary sort on block number (ascending).

Coach Tracking: Coach numbers shown in blue with underlining link to a Google map that shows the coach location as an orange marker pin. The map pans and the marker moves to follow coach movement when the coach reports a new location. A checkbox at the top of the map turns panning off (markers still move when the coach reports a new location). Another checkbox turns on a Google traffic analysis layer. Any number of coaches can be tracked simultaneously by right-clicking the coach number and opening the linked map in a new tab.

Late and Early Color Backgrounds: For the "Block" reference page, the color of the background of the "Rt" cells shows whether the coach is late or early. On the "Headway" and "To Garage" pages, the same information is given by the color of the background of the "End" and "Lv" columns, respectively. In all cases, this color scheme is used:  Yellow  = late 15 to 20 minutes;  Red  = late more than 20 minutes;  Light green  = 5 to 10 minutes early;  Dark green  = more than 10 minutes early.

Other Notes: (1) Showing hidden columns, for example, the vehicle change or distance columns hidden in the fixed route tables on the "Block Reference" page, will cause one or more of the tables to drop out of sight on the page if the browser display is too narrow to fit the added width of the formerly hiddewn columns. (2) Sorting any table, for example, the "ST Coaches" table, sorts all tables on the page.

Block Reference

Block Distance Columns: A checkbox in the table title, labeled "Dst", turns the display of the distance column (for fixed routes only) on or off for that table. Reloading the page hides all visible distance columns.

NOTE: The distances shown may be miles or kilometers. My research suggested some block distances may be given in miles and others in kilometers in the original data, depending on the block.

Vehicle Change Columns: A checkbox in the table title, labeled "Chg", turns the display of the vehicle change column on or off for that table. Vehicle changes are shown as Vehicle@Time, where Time is the time the vehicle logged on to the block.

If more than one vehicle logs on to a given block on a given service day, the additional vehicle and logon time is connected to the previous vehicle and logon time with a 'greater-than' symbol (">", a right-pointing angle bracket).

For tables without room for the "Chg" checkbox in the title, that is, the "Special", "Mechanic" and "Relief" tables, click (desktop computer) or tap (smartphone) the table title, for example, "Special", to show or hide the coach changes for the blocks shown in the table. Reloading the page hides all visible coach change columns.

Block Information: Click or tap block numbers to display the block pull-out time, followed by the type of coach assigned to the block and the most recent time the vehicle on the block reported its location: [pull-out time] ([coach type]); [most recent location report time].

The next line of the information revealed by tapping or clicking the block number shows which vehicles have signed onto the block and what time they signed on: Vehicle@Time>Next Vehicle@Time. The information shown is the same information shown in the vehicle change table columns described above (see Vehicle Change Columns).

Route Number, Direction: The route direction following the route number in the "Rt" column is the current route direction: ES is a generally east, south, clockwise route direction; WN is a generally west, north, counterclockwise route. If the route number in the "Rt" column ends with a lowercase 'd', 'o' or 'i', the coach is deadheading, pulling out, or pulling in, respectively. In those cases, the route number shown is the route associated with the block overall.

Assignment Number: Tap or click the route number to show the assignment number in an information bubble, and tap or click the next timepoint to show the scheduled arrival time at that timepoint.

Next Timepoint, Estimated and Scheduled Arrival Times: The "NxtTP@ETA" column shows the next timepoint and the computer-estimated arrival time at that timepoint. If no estimated arrival time is available, the at-sign will not have anything following it. Tap or click the timepoint to show the scheduled (not estimated) arrival time.

Special, Mechanic and Relief Blocks: The "Special", "Mechanic" and "Relief" tables display only blocks which have been logged on. Route numbers, assignment numbers, pull-out times and other information only associated with fixed-route blocks is not available.

Vehicle changes on the special, mechanic and relief blocks may be viewed by tapping or clicking the table titles. Tapping or clicking the table title again, or reloading the page, will hide vehicle change columns.

Headway Listings

Route Reversal: Tap or click the to reverse the route direction displayed on route headway pages.

Route Selection Entry Box: Enter a route in the text entry box next to the hamburger menu on route headway pages to display the route. If only a route number is entered, the default direction is north or east (depending on the route). If a route number and direction (upper or lower case N, S, E or W) is entered, that route and direction will be displayed. NOTE: "Enter" means tap or click in the entry box, type the route number and, if desired, the single letter route direction designator, then tap "Enter" or "Return" on the keyboard.

Trip Display: By default, all route and hub headway pages only show trips starting from 2.5 hours before the current time to the end of the day. To show earlier trips for the day, tap or click the page heading. Tap or click again to hide the earlier trips.

Table rows showing current trips, that is, trips starting at or after and ending at or after the current time, are shown with bold (thick) borders.

In Seattle Color Backgrounds: Coaches in Seattle (approximately, north of Boeing Field, south of Blaine, east of 1st & Lenora, and west of Beacon) will have an  orange  background color for the "Leave" time when shown in any hub or route headway page. Similarly, coaches at Eastlake (approximately, north of Yale & Howell, on or east of Fairview, on or west of Eastlake, on or south of the Mercer exit ramp) will have an  orange background with bold blue letters .

Transit Hub: The "King" and "Pierce" menus show headways at transit hubs in King and Pierce counties. Selecting a transit hub from either menu will show trips passing through or starting at the chosen hub. Trips ending at the hub are not shown. See To Garage for more information about runs ending at various locations.

Assignment Number, Last Location Report Time: If a coach is running on an active block, click or tap a block number in the "Block" column to display the assignment number and the last time the coach reported its location.

Timepoints and Times: Click or tap a leave time to display the list of (nonterminal) timepoints, along with the time the coach is scheduled to arrive at each one, for the trip starting at the time and place clicked. For example, "royy@4:36, milpa2@4:43, ..." was displayed if the start time of the first trip of block 5000 was clicked during booking 124.

Destination Sign Code: Click or tap a route-and-direction in the "Route" column to display the destination sign code for that trip.

Scheduled Arrival Time: Click or tap a Next@ETA timepoint and time to display the scheduled arrival time at the timepoint.

Export to Excel or CSV: One or more buttons underneath headway tables enable export to Excel or CSV files. The absence of a button to generate a file format indicates the application to display the format is unavailable on the device; for example, the absence of a button to generate the Excel format when a headway page is displayed on a smartphone indicates the smartphone does not have an application available to open and display Excel files.

To Garage

Show Upcoming or All: Click or tap the page heading, "Garage Bound Coaches", to toggle the display of upcoming garage-bound coaches (the default) to show all coaches during the service day. Click or tap the page heading again to show only the upcoming garage-bound coaches.
